Springwater's name comes from its naturally occurring springs that
are the headwaters for the Nottawasaga River system. These springs
form small creeks and streams that traverse the park's 145 hectares.
The forest cover is primarily second generation red and white pine
but there are pockets of birch, maple, and oak. Of particular note
are tulip trees growing at the extreme northern limit of their range.
The park contains landscaped and open areas but is mainly forest
covered and home to a variety of plants and animals usually found
in south central Ontario.
