Natural Features
This waterway park encompasses a chain of lakes lying between
a series of parallel ridges. Canoeing opportunities are solely flatwater,
with short, rugged portages. This route connects with Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater
and Sturgeon River provincial parks, and other waterways on Crown
land.
Park Facilities and Activities
There are no visitor facilities. Only experienced backcountry
canoeists should consider travelling in this remote area. Canoeists
should be skilled and equipped to meet the demands of varying water
and weather conditions. Topographic maps for navigation are essential.
Location: 80 kilometres straight-line distance northeast of Sudbury. Water access only from Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater or Sturgeon River provincial parks. Air access by floatplane can also be arranged from Elk Lake, Sudbury or Temagami. All private aircraft require a landing permit from Ontario Parks at (705) 569-3205.
