Hiking
MacLeod Trail 1 km
(30 minutes) easy
This trail passes through a forest of trembling aspen, the prominent
tree in the park. Much of the original forest was destroyed by fire
in 1939. A trail guide explains forest succession.
Fishing
Cast a line for pike and walleye in Kenogamisis Lake and Kenogamisis
River.

Canoeing
Travel by canoe is the perfect way to explore Kenogamisis Lake.
Canoes can be rented from local outfitters near the park.
Wildlife Viewing
Moose and black bear live in the area, along with smaller mammals
such as foxes, chipmunks, hares and red squirrel. Birds include
red-eyed vireos, ovenbirds, and northern warblers as well as broad-winged
hawks and ospreys.
Boating
Bring your own boat and launch it from the park's boat launch, or
rent a boat from suppliers nearby. Explore the lake with its many
inlets, bays, islands and marshes.
Swimming
The sandy beach is a popular attraction for day visitors and campers.
Other
MacLeod Provincial Park is the annual host of the popular Geraldton
Music Jamboree. Well known musicians perform to capacity crowds
at this three-day community and music festival traditionally held
on the long weekend in August. The event is organized in partnership
with the municipality of Greenstone.
