Education
Nearby Algonquin and Silent Lake parks offer extensive education
programs. With your camping permit from Lake St. Peter, you can
enter them free for day-use activities. Program information is posted
at the Park Office.
Fishing
For the best results, fish from a boat or canoe for trout and bass
in Lake St. Peter.
More information on fishing.
Canoeing
Rent a canoe or a paddleboat at the park for a day on Lake St. Peter.
Wildlife Viewing
Raccoons, chipmunks and squirrels are noisy neighbours around the
campground and it's not unusual to spot deer or moose on the hiking
trails. Warblers, thrushes, chickadees, woodpeckers and great blue
herons also make the park their home.
Boating
Motorboats are permitted on the park lakes and can be eased into
the water at a boat launch.
Swimming
Lake St. Peter has a large, sandy beach with warm, clear water,
ideal for family swimming.
Cycling
There are no dedicated cycling trails in the park but local forest
access and municipal roads provide excellent biking opportunities.
And the Hastings Heritage Trail, open to cyclists, is only two km
away.
Other
Lake St. Peter is the northern terminus of the Hastings Heritage
Trail. Located two km from the park, the trail is open year round
to hikers, cyclists, horseback riders, skiers, dog sledders, snowmobilers
and recreational vehicle operators.

Hunting in this park is subject to the Ontario Hunting Regulations. Certain restrictions apply. For more information, contact the park or your local area or district office of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
