from Tuesday after Thanksgiving weekend to last Friday

- Each Yurt is equipped
with two sets of bunks beds, each having a lower
double mattress which folds to a couch, and a
twin upper mattress. (each mattress has a permanent
vinyl mattress cover)
- Table and six chairs.
- Electric heat, 2-120 V duplex outlets, fluorescent light
- Fire extinguisher and smoke detector
- Broom and dustpan / outdoor broom, snow shovel
- Propane barbecue. 2 picnic tables
- Y3, Y4, Y5, & Y6 each have a permanent roofed dining shelter (year round), these structures are completely open (no screens)
- Fire pit.
- Metal bear proof food storage box bolted to deck
- Small wagon to transport gear to yurt (May to Oct
only), and 1 Toboggan for winter

Sleeping bags, cooking
stove and lantern (for outside only), pots, pans and
wash container, utensils, flashlight, food, etc. Appropriate
cold weather gear for winter. Water container. Cushions
for chairs. Lock for bear-box. Cross-country skies /
snowshoes and sleigh / toboggan to access yurt in winter
– See special note below. |

Killarney yurts are walk-in only.
During the spring,
summer and fall seasons (approximately last Friday in
April to the 1st day of November) when driving into the
campground is possible, the walk from the yurt parking
area to the yurt sites is between 70m and 200m.
During the winter months when the campground gates
are locked access to the yurt is by ski/snowshoe only
– a distance of approximately 500m from the main park
office to the 6 yurt sites.
Yurt check-in times:
Summer: 2 PM to 9PM
Shoulder and Winter Seasons: 2 PM to 4:30 PM
Yurt check-out time: 12:00 noon
Domestic animals (pets) are NOT permitted in the facility
or on site and smoking is prohibited in all facilities.
Cooking in yurts is not permitted. |
