Education
During July and August, join a guided hike, family program or evening campfire and learn about the history and natural features of the park.

Fishing - Pike and walleye

Canoeing
Kaministiquia River/Fur Trade Route 520 km (25-35 days) 23 portages
From Lake Superior to Fort Frances, this difficult route features some white water and is best paddled in early summer. Several canoe rental outfitters are located in communities along the route.

Wildlife Viewing
You can spot moose, deer and bear, smaller animals such as fox, squirrels and chipmunks, and feathered friends -- grouse and song birds - at this park. In the fall, watch for bald eagles over the gorge.

Swimming
A dammed section above the falls features a buoyed swimming area with a long, sandy beach and change facilities.

Cycling - Poplar Point Trail is suitable for biking.

Winter Activities
Summer views are just as spectacular in the winter along 13 km of trails groomed for skating and classic cross-country skiing. Poplar Point, Beaver Meadow and River Terrace trails are good for beginners to intermediate skiers.

Other
At 39 metres, Kakabeka Falls is the highest waterfall in northern Ontario. Boardwalks and viewing pods offer spectacular views of the falls and gorge.
