Natural Features
This patch of Superior-region topography has been protected as
a nature reserve because it is a gently sloping, wave-washed section
of Proterozoic rock -- 2.5 billion years old -- situated above an
escarpment. Atop this unusual geology is a mosaic of vegetation
associated with white pine and interspersed with lichen barrens.
