More information on fishing.
Canoeing
Explore Charleston Lake's intricate shoreline and many islands by
canoe. Each beach provides a canoe launch and storage racks.
Wildlife Viewing
Ask park naturalists which trails to follow for the best wildlife
viewing. The park's forests and shores are full of birds, mammals,
reptiles (including the threatened Black Rat Snake) and amphibians.
Boating
Charleston Lake is a beautiful lake for all types of boating. Docking
facilities are available at the boat launch on a first-come, first-serve
basis for boats up to five metres long. Motorboats are prohibited
in Slim Bay and parts of Running's Bay.
Swimming
Sandy beaches are groomed daily and slope gently into shallow, clear
water. There is a buoyed area and change facilities, ideal for family
swimming.
Education
Throughout the summer season, daily programs on a variety of themes
are offered. School groups are also welcome in the spring and fall.
See park bulletin boards, or phone for details.
Hunting
Hunting in this park is subject to the Ontario Hunting Regulations. Certain restrictions apply. For more information, contact the park or your local area or district office of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
