Park Activities

Education
During the summer, park staff evening programs, guided hikes, children's programs and special events, such as archaeological programs, Celtic music and a wolf howl.

Fishing
Early morning and dusk are the best times to catch lake trout, pike, walleye and bass. The best fishing is done from a boat, but you can also try your luck from shore or the park's footbridge.

Canoeing
Explore Round Lake's shoreline by canoe or branch out into the Little Bonnechere River for a scenic paddle.

Overnight excursions are possible if you paddle the Bonnechere River into Algonquin Park.

Wildlife Viewing
Moose, deer, bear and wolf can be seen along the Basin Depot Road. Come in spring to see the warbler migration.

Boating
Round Lake is ideal for boating, sailing, canoeing -- and windsurfing. You can launch your boat near the beach.

Swimming
The small beach is sandy, the water shallow and a buoyed area ideal for family swimming.
